In celebration of the World Teachers’ Day, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, the First Lady of Nigeria, commend teachers for their chosen noble profession and draw attention to its shortage. The World Teachers’ Day is celebrated every October, 5.

The 2025 World’s Teachers’ is themed, “Focusing on the Global Teachers Shortage.” Senator Oluremi described teachers as true heroes, who shape minds, nurture dreams, and guide generations. She spoke on the urgent need to address the challenge of teacher shortage through investment in their growth, motivates others to join, and empower them. 

“The shortage of teachers is a challenge we must confront with urgency, by empowering educators, investing in their growth, and inspiring more to join this noble profession. Teachers are true heroes, shaping minds, nurturing dreams, and guiding generations”, part of the statement reads

Acknowledging herself as a lifelong teacher, she salutes all teachers on this special day.
