Summary
Actress Yvonne Jegede and businesswoman Sandra Iheuwa have reacted to reports of domestic violence by Senator Ned Nwoko towards his spouse, Regina Daniels. Yvonne urged Regina to leave if the claims are true, while Sandra called for empathy instead of public mockery.
Entrepreneur Sandra Iheuwa and actress Yvonne Jegede have both spoken out following claims of reported domestic violence involving Nollywood star Regina Daniels and her husband, Senator Ned Nwoko.
A viral video circulating on social media showed Regina Daniels visibly distressed, claiming that the senator sent thugs to assault her. In the clip, she was seen shouting and crying while people around her attempted to calm her down.
Sandra Iheuwa, reacting via her Instagram Stories, condemned the wave of mockery directed at Regina Daniels online. She urged Nigerians to show empathy instead of ridicule when women face personal or marital struggles.
“Honestly, I think Nigeria is the only place I’ve seen where a woman goes through something like abuse, heartbreak, or any kind of personal issue, and instead of empathy, people rush online to mock her. It’s ridiculous,” she wrote.
Sandra Iheuwa stressed that women deserve care and support, not derision, especially when the facts of a situation remain unclear.
“A lady is allegedly going through abuse, and instead of support or silence, people are laughing and making jokes. Are you kidding me? It’s really crazy. We can do better,” she added.
Meanwhile, actress Yvonne Jegede took a firmer stance, advising Regina Daniels to leave her marriage if the reports of violence are true.
In a post shared on Instagram, Yvonne said:
“Regina, you are still very young. If there’s violence in your marriage, please carry your bag. There is never sugarcoating for me as long as violence is involved.”
She urged Regina to prioritise her mental health and her sons’ wellbeing above all else, noting that no relationship is worth enduring abuse for.
