Summary: Nollywood actress Halima Abubakar has made a tearful public appeal for financial support to fund urgent brain and spleen surgery amid worsening health and financial hardship.
Nollywood actress Halima Abubakar has made an emotional appeal to the public for financial assistance, revealing that she urgently needs funds to undergo brain and spleen surgery.
In a distressing video shared on social media, the actress broke down in tears as she pleaded with well-meaning Nigerians to come to her aid, saying her condition has become critical.
“I am tired of begging. Please, I need money for my brain and spleen surgery. I am not ashamed. If I am ashamed, I will just die away one day, and you people will not know,” she said.
The video showed actress Halima seated in what appeared to be her packed apartment, with trash bags and boxes scattered around, suggesting she is preparing to vacate the premises. This comes weeks after she revealed that she had been evicted from her home in Abuja while battling serious health challenges.
In January, the actress disclosed that she had been diagnosed with a brain tumour and needed about N25 million for surgery. At the time, she also lamented that her caretaker had asked her to leave the apartment due to unpaid rent.
Halima further shared medical documents and photos from the National Hospital to substantiate her claims, stating that she has already undergone spleen-related treatment but still requires urgent surgery on her brain.
The actress has been battling health issues since 2022, a period that followed her publicised legal dispute with Apostle Johnson Suleman, founder of Omega Fire Ministries.
A graduate of Sociology from Bayero University, Kano, Halima Abubakar began her acting career in 2001 with a minor role in Rejected. She rose to fame after starring in Gangster Paradise and has since appeared in over 250 films.
Her latest appeal has drawn concern from fans and colleagues, as she continues to call on the public for support amid mounting health and financial difficulties.
