Folashade Tinubu-Ojo, the Iyaloja-General of Nigeria, has threatened to mobilise a protest over the outcome of the recently concluded All Progressives Congress (APC) primaries in Lagos State.
She stated that the results in at least three constituencies were manipulated in favour of the Justice Forum faction of the party.
On Wednesday, May 27, 2026, Folashade Tinubu-Ojo spoke during a weekly gathering of market leaders and trade stakeholders held at her office in Alausa, Ikeja, where she openly disputed the official list of candidates released by the Lagos APC State chapter under chairperson Cornelius Ojelabi.
She specifically faulted the conduct of the House of Representatives primaries in Mushin Constituency II, Agege Constituency II, and Ojokoro Constituency, stating that the mandates of preferred aspirants in those areas were altered and awarded to individuals she claimed did not win the elections.
“We are ready to protest because of Seye Oladejo of Mushin Federal Constituency II, Mutiu Olaide Oladeebo of Agege Constituency II, and Olotu Ojo of Ojokoro Constituency, because we know they won this election. Their mandate should not be given to somebody else,” she said.
Folashade further called on the APC to disband both the Justice Forum and the Mandate Movement, arguing that factional politics within the party was undermining internal democracy. She also criticised what she described as shifting loyalty among party members, adding that it was troubling to see members of the Mandate Group defecting to the Justice Forum ahead of the primaries.
Folashade urged both the state and national leadership of the APC to urgently investigate the disputed primaries before final approval of the results, warning that unresolved grievances could deepen internal divisions within the party ahead of the 2027 general elections.
She also stated that market women across Lago deserved greater recognition and political appointments in return for their loyalty and contributions to the party’s electoral success. She further urged President Tinubu to recognise traders as key stakeholders in national development.
