Nollywood powerhouse Funke Akindele has claimed another landmark for Nigerian cinema, announcing that her upcoming film The Four: No One Fights Alone will become the first Nollywood title to premiere at London’s prestigious ODEON Luxe Leicester Square.

In a post on X (formerly Twitter) on Monday, November 2, 2026, the actress-filmmaker expressed deep gratitude for the achievement.

“I’m humbled and so grateful to God for this feat!” she wrote. The UK premiere is scheduled for November 29 at the 791-seat venue in the heart of London’s West End.

Funke framed the event as more than a personal win, calling it a platform for emerging Nigerian storytellers.

“To every up-and-coming Nollywood filmmaker, please don’t give up on your dreams. I hope the work we’re doing today gives you a platform to tell your own stories and take them even further.”

Funke, often dubbed the “Queen of Box Office” for her string of commercially successful films, used the announcement to thank her cast, crew and fans while positioning the premiere as a collective step forward for the industry.

“This is just the beginning for our industry, and I’m excited about what we can do together,” she said. “THE FOUR… No One Fights Alone!! In cinemas nationwide December 11th. See you at the box office!”

The choice of ODEON Luxe Leicester Square, a high-profile venue that regularly hosts major Hollywood and international premieres, underscores Nigerian filmmakers’ growing global ambitions. Industry reports confirm the claim that this marks the first time a Nollywood production has secured a premiere slot at the location.

Tickets for the London event went on sale shortly after the announcement, with early fan response indicating strong interest among the Nigerian diaspora and UK audiences.

Funke’s latest move continues her pattern of expanding Nollywood’s reach, following previous box-office records and recent partnerships aimed at broader distribution. As one of the most visible and commercially successful women in African film, her success story fuels ongoing conversations about female leadership and creative power in the industry.
