Actress Skai Jackson has been granted a temporary restraining order against the father of her child, Deondre “Yerkky Yerkky” Burgin. She reported multiple incidents of physical and emotional abuse, including a violent assault on Mother’s Day.
In court documents filed on May 19, 2025, in Los Angeles County Superior Court, the 23-year-old former Disney Channel star described a pattern of domestic abuse that began in 2024 and escalated with a recent attack.
Skai Jackson, who shares a 3-month-old son named Kasai with Deondre, claims the violence reached a peak when he reportedly grabbed her by the hair, slammed her head against a car window, and punched her in the face, all while she was holding their baby.
“Deondre caused me to have a bloody nose. I don’t feel safe with my son being around him due to his violent history. He also said ‘F my child.’ she wrote in her court filing.
Skai Jackson stated that the abuse began last spring and included chilling threats. In one incident from June 2023, she claimed that Deondre choked her, destroyed her iPhone, and threatened her with a knife, demanding that she drink bleach to terminate her pregnancy.
“He told me to get in the driver’s seat and said if I called out for help, he would stab me in the stomach,” she said. “He then called a friend and said he was about to kill me.”
According to Skai, Deondre also repeatedly choked, scraped, and slammed her head against walls, destroyed personal property such as her phone and television, and mistreated her “on a weekly basis for six months.”
The court order protects Skai Jackson, her son, and her dog, Otis, requiring him to stay away from them and refrain from contacting or harassing them.
Social media users have shown an outpouring of support for Skai Jackson. Many people praised her for speaking up, comparing her actions to Halle Bailey, who also got a restraining order against her ex-boyfriend and father of her child, DDG.

Halle Bailey’s own filing detailed verbal and physical abuse by DDG, leading a judge to issue a similar order barring him from contacting her or discussing their child publicly, and requiring him to remain at least 100 yards away.
