A judge has denied YouTuber and rapper Darryl Dwayne Granberry Jr., popularly known as DDG, his request to block his former partner, actress Halle Bailey, from traveling internationally. The request involved their 17-month-old son, Halo.
The 27-year-old content creator filed an emergency motion on June 4, 2025 seeking to prevent Halle from taking their child out of the United States, specifically on a planned vacation to Italy. DDG also requested a domestic violence restraining order against her, claiming she posed an “imminent emotional and psychological risk” to their son due to “repeated, documented threats of self-harm.”
He argued that if Halo were to leave the country, the child would be “without the protections of the Court and any emergency intervention mechanisms.”
However, court documents obtained on June 5, 2025 confirm that both the travel restriction request and the restraining order were denied. The judge ruled in favor of Halle’s motion to dismiss DDG’s emergency requests and granted her permission to proceed with the trip abroad.
The legal dispute comes weeks after Halle Bailey was granted temporary physical and legal custody of Halo in May. In court filings dated May 13, she accused DDG of physical and emotional abuse during a January custody handoff, claiming he shouted at her in front of their child, pulled her hair, slammed her face into a steering wheel, and left visible bruises on her arms.
Halle submitted photos of her injuries and a damaged Ring camera as evidence. Following the incident, she was granted a temporary restraining order against DDG. The court ordered him to stay at least 100 yards away from Bailey, refrain from publicly discussing her or their son, and prohibited him from possessing any weapons.
A follow-up hearing is scheduled for later in June, during which the restraining order could potentially be extended for up to five years.
