Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has been conferred with the traditional title of Sarauniyar Yaki (Queen Warrior) of Akko Emirate in Gombe State.
The title was bestowed on her by the Lamido Akko, Alhaji Umar Muhammad Atiku, on October 2, 2025, during her two-day working visit to the state. According to the monarch, the honour recognises her passion and commitment to defending the interests of vulnerable groups across the nation.
In her remarks, Senator Oluremi expressed gratitude for the recognition and pledged to continue championing initiatives for the welfare of the girl child. She also called on traditional rulers in Gombe State to support her advocacy.
The conferment ceremony was witnessed by Governor Muhammad Inuwa Yahaya of Gombe State, the Chief Whip of the House of Representatives, Hon. Usman Bello Kumo, and other dignitaries.
During her visit, the First Lady flagged off the national launch of the Renewed Hope Initiative Flow With Confidence, a menstrual health intervention designed to support schoolgirls across the country.
