Summary
Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, through her lawyers, has accused the federal government of selective justice and bias. This is in response to the federal government suing her for defamatory remarks while not attending to her petitions against the Senate president, Godswill Akpabio. Senator Natasha demands impartiality and justice.
The legal team representative of Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan has accused the Federal government of selective justice, following their intention to sue her.
Recall that earlier this year, Senator Natasha raised alarm about the Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, inappropriate sexual advances towards her and discriminatory acts in the Senate house. In response, she was suspended for six months, and the federal government filed a lawsuit against her in support of Akpabio despite not addressing the numerous petitions Natasha submitted.
In a statement signed by her Counsel, Uju Nwoduwu, Natasha’s twelve petitions submitted between March and May 2025 remain unattended. The lawyers pointed out that the petitions are gathering dust, and selective justice raised deep concerns about biased enforcement of justice.
The team demand an impartial investigation into all the pending petitions and equality in the application for a just judgment.
