In commitment to her support for education and empowerment for Nigerian youths, Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, awarded N47 million and over 40 laptops to tertiary students nationwide.
This new development was made known during the mid-term assessment and interactive session with the beneficiaries held on Tuesday, September 9, 2025. The students were selected based on academic merit and drawn from institutions nationwide.
Through her initiative, Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI) scholarship scheme, five students in 400l, 39 in 300l, two in 200l, and one in ND II were awarded N1 million each with a new laptop. These students studied courses ranging from law, medicine, education, humanities, engineering, and sciences.
Speaking at the ceremony, Senator Oluremi stressed that the initiative is rooted in service to humanity, not politics.
“This is a scheme we have to continue; this is not politics; it’s about people’s lives,” she says. “It’s not about the number, but it’s about raising good and successful students who will be productive and add something to the table.”
She advised the students not to rely solely on the scholarships, but to look for side hustles and small businesses that can support them and prepare them for life after graduation.
