Senator Oluremi Tinubu awarded N50,000 to 500 female traders and small business owners in Enugu state. This development supports their entrepreneurial spirit and enables them to provide for their families.

To support the entrepreneurial spirit of Nigerian traders and small-scale business owners across the nation, the First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, awarded N50,000 each to 500 female entrepreneurs in Enugu state on Thursday, Sept. 18, 2025.

Under the Women Economic Empowerment Programme initiative titled Provision of Small Business Recapitalisation, the Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI), in partnership with Tony Elumelu Foundation in Enugu State, granted the women the capital.

According to Senator Oluremi, the grant is not a loan but an entrepreneurial support to enable women to provide for their families and uplift their communities. The 500 beneficiaries were drawn from the 17 council areas of Enugu state through the office of the state’s First Lady, Ms Nkechinyere Mbah.

“It’s my firm belief that when you empower a woman, you empower a household, a community, and indeed, a nation,” she said.

This initiative is among the ways Senator Oluremi supports Nigerian women entrepreneurs and their businesses.
