Kafilat Adetola Ogbara emerges victorious in the All Progressives Congress (APC) primary election for Kosofe Federal Constituency on Saturday, May 16, 2026, in Lagos State. Her victory has been described as a reflection of purposeful leadership, quality representation, grassroots connection, and unwavering dedication to the growth and development of Kosofe Federal Constituency.
Since assuming office as the representative of Kosofe Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Kafilat has been recognised for her empowerment initiatives and active representation at the National Assembly. She currently serves in Nigeriaās 10th House of Representatives and made history as the first woman elected to represent Kosofe Federal Constituency at the National Assembly.
She secured the seat with 45,111 votes, defeating Florence Adepegba of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), who polled 28,964 votes, and Abdulwaheed Odunuga of the New Nigeria Peopleās Party (NNPP), who scored 4,152 votes.
Widely regarded as a visionary leader, Kifilat Ogbara is also known for her commitment to technology empowerment and initiatives aimed at improving opportunities for young people and women within her constituency.
Beyond politics, she is an entrepreneur, media professional, and womenās rights advocate. Before becoming a federal lawmaker, she built experience in property management, media and broadcasting, newspaper administration, and entrepreneurship.
Her advocacy has consistently focused on womenās inclusion in politics and governance, with support for policies encouraging greater female participation in leadership and public service.
In recognition of her contributions to society and leadership, Ogbara also holds the traditional Yoruba chieftaincy title of āYeye Sewa of Lagos,ā conferred by Oba Rilwan Babatunde Akiolu I. Her victory at the APC primary election positions her as the partyās candidate for the forthcoming 2027 election in Kosofe Federal Constituency.
