About Naija Feminists Media (NFM)

We are an organised body that represents the interests of women’s liberation through mass media in a way uninfluenced by profitability and propaganda. We produce knowledge products–Feminist News, Free Women’s (FM) Vodcast, Women’s Art, and NFM Films–that demystify Nigeria’s misogynistic and patriarchal culture, rework the stereotype that gender equality is un-African and unnecessary, and highlight Nigerian women’s perspectives on global gender issues.

About the role

We seek a communications intern to join our team and manage NFM communications with internal and external stakeholders, including the NFM online audience, partners, and the team. This role includes writing content, designing communications materials, building NFM’s community, and managing NFM’s social media platforms and newsletters. 

Job description

  • Writing two news stories about women and girls daily
  • Managing NFM social media platforms, including designing graphics, editing videos, and publishing content materials 
  • Publishing content on the NFM website and designing relevant featured images
  • Managing NFM online & offline community and collaborations and managing the same relationships
  • Collaborating with the editorial team to build and publish NFM Newsletter
  • Collaborating with relevant teams to implement relevant project campaigns
  • Overseeing and moderating NFM’s X space and covering/moderaating relevant events

Key requirements

  • Passion for gender equality
  • Up to date with issues concerning women and girls
  • Proficiency in the English language
  • Expertise in graphic design, video editing, and publishing tools such as Canva, Adobe Premiere Pro, Photoshop, Tweetdeck, and MailChimp.
  • Willing to work with minimal supervision.
  • Possess good communication and interpersonal skills
