- Project LEVAWG 2025 Empowers Girls in Kwara
On May 14, 2025, the 2025 edition of the annual Leadership and Ending Violence Against Women and Girls (LEVAWG) summit was successfully held at Hall 3, Kwara State College of Education. The impactful event gathered over 500 participants, including students, teachers, and volunteers from across the state. The summit also awarded scholarships and fostered community support to inspire a new generation of female leaders.
- Domestic Violence: Court Grants Skai Jackson Restraining Order Against Ex, Deondre
Actress Skai Jackson has been granted a temporary restraining order against the father of her child, Deondre “Yerkky Yerkky” Burgin. She claims the violence reached a peak when he reportedly grabbed her by the hair, slammed her head against a car window, and punched her in the face, all while she was holding their baby. The court order protects Skai Jackson, her son, and her dog, Otis, requiring him to stay away from them and refrain from contacting or harassing them.
- Paternal Postpartum Depression is Real but Less Common than Maternal Depression

The tweet had 13.6m views, 314 comments, 2.5k retweets, and 563 likes. With postpartum depression affecting one in seven women, NFM decided to clarify if the ailment affects men too.
- Favour Ofili Shatters 150m World Record in Historic Race
On sports news, Nigerian sprint star Favour Ofili made history at the Adidas Atlanta City Games, where she smashed the world record in the women’s 150m with a lightning-fast time of 15.85 seconds (2.0m/s). Competing at Piedmont Park, the 22-year-old became the first woman in history to run the rarely contested distance in under 16 seconds, eclipsing the previous world best of 16.23s set by Olympic champion Shaunae Miller-Uibo in 2018.
- Amoke Oge Cements Place in Food Industry, Earns N2.3bn on Chowdeck
A Nigerian food vendor, Amoke Oge, has made history as a woman-led business to reach 500,000 deliveries on Chowdeck, one of Nigeria’s leading food delivery platforms. According to the CEO, Amoke Oge was among the first 100 vendors to join the platform around two to three years ago. With an average order value of ₦4,600, the milestone translates to an estimated revenue of ₦2.3 billion.
