The Honourable Minister of Communications, Innovation, and Digital Economy, Dr Bosun Tijani, has announced a strengthened collaboration with the Honourable Minister of Industry, Trade, and Investment, Dr Jumoke Oduwole, following a meeting aimed at expanding inter-ministerial cooperation.

The discussion centred on leveraging existing economic programmes to achieve Nigeria’s ambitious goal of building a $1 trillion economy. Key initiatives highlighted include the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) and the National Talent Export Programme (NATEP), which align with the Ministry of Communications, Innovation, and Digital Economy’s strategic initiatives, such as the 3MTT Nigeria programme and efforts to facilitate digital trade.

Both ministers reaffirmed their commitment to fostering growth and diversification within Nigeria’s digital trade sector.

“This collaboration is key to building a prosperous, technology-driven Nigeria and positioning the nation as a global powerhouse for innovation and trade,” Minister Jumoke said.

Minister Bosun, speaking at the meeting, also described the meeting as “excellent,” noting its focus on aligning shared priorities to ensure Nigeria remains a leader in Africa’s rapidly evolving digital economy.

As Nigeria seeks to capitalise on transformative initiatives like the AfCFTA and NATEP, this partnership represents a key step toward creating an enabling environment for trade, innovation, and digital entrepreneurship.
